As part of our commercial growth journey, we've had the pleasure of having both Mads and Laura on board. 

Mads is 32 years old, comes from the Struer area and has previously worked with FMCG B2B sales at one of Denmark's leading export companies. He has been hired as a Sales Consultant and will help us develop our sales efforts, build customer relationships and guide our future and new customers in the products that best suit their purposes.

Laura is 29 years old, originally from Herning, Denmark, and has worked with marketing and product development for the user journey. Here, Laura will help develop and maintain our marketing efforts, digital concepts and strengthen DTE as a brand as Digital Concept Developer.

DTE: 30 years of innovation and sustainable plastic solutions

At Dansk Transport Emballage A/S (DTE), we have specialized in plastic packaging for storage and transport across industries for over 30 years.

The company was established in 1994 by Keld Kjær Jensen, who saw a market for plastic solutions for the food industry. He started the company as self-employed, using his own home for storage and office space. With growing demand, Keld decided to expand DTE by hiring more employees and changing location to accommodate the growth.

In 2013, Michael Gabelgaard Minke took over as CEO and further developed DTE with a focus on digitalization, security and customized solutions. Under his leadership, the company has seen annual growth rates of 20-40% without increasing headcount.

Today, DTE works with manufacturers from over 10 countries and offers our customers tailored solutions, including warehousing and washing services. With a strong sustainability strategy, we work to recycle plastic products, reduce CO₂ emissions and promote a circular economy.

At DTE, the growth journey continues with a focus on innovation, sustainability and customized solutions.

At Dansk Transport Emballage, one of our star products is the plastic pallet - a product that is here to stay.

When you invest in a plastic pallet, you get a manageable pallet that is super durable and very hygienic. They are available in many dimensions and qualities, with a wide range of applications. The materials used to produce the pallets are regenerated HDPE, PP/PE and pure HDPE.

The majority of all plastic pallets are made from recycled plastic, primarily from industry, but we are also seeing trials with sorted household plastic. At DTE, we sell both plastic pallets in regenerated plastic and plastic pallets that are food approved.

Here are even more reasons to choose plastic pallets over wooden pallets:

• Plastic pallets are not affected by moisture at all - The good thing about a plastic pallet is that it is resistant to bacteria, mold and mildew in humid environments. The pallets can therefore easily withstand being left outdoors all year round for a long period of time without any problems. They are ideal for storing moist, organic materials such as stones that would quickly damage wooden pallets. This makes the plastic pallet ideal for overseas transportation where wooden packaging is not appropriate.
• Plastic pallets are very hygienic - If you are in the food industry and have a special need for your pallets to be hygienic, choose a plastic pallet. We offer food-grade pallets that are easy to keep clean and sterilize.
• Plastic pallets are incredibly durable - the plastic pallet can be used over and over again before it needs to be replaced or sent for granulation. At DTE, you can find plastic pallets in many different strengths and sizes depending on your needs. We are always ready to guide you to the right product. 
• Plastic pallets are 100% recyclable - the plastic material is not lost during re-melting. Therefore, you can reuse it almost as many times as you want. This extends the life of the material as much as possible.

Thanks to The Food Club for a fantastic event on packaging! We had a great afternoon/evening together with both exhibitors and participants.

The atmosphere was great and the interest in topics such as Producer Responsibility, ESG and sustainability was high. It is clear that we are facing big challenges. Exciting visit to our Spanish supplier Rotogal.

We dived into the world of rotational manufacturing of plastic products and were blown away by the informative and inspiring visit. Our new motto must be "if you can imagine a plastic product, we can make it!" All in all, the code word is specialized solutions and advice.

Rotogal specializes in the design and manufacture of vessels and pallets for the fishing, fish farming, aquaculture and food industries. Their production focuses on their innovative high-quality insulated tanks and hygiene pallets and vessels.

Rotogal is part of a family-owned company that also has a sister company, Egalsa. This company is where it all started and has deep roots in the fishing industry. Egalsa began by collecting nets for granulation to be 100% recycled into new plastic products and has grown into a global player. At one point they were the world's largest collector and are still a major player. Among other things, they sell special nets for mussel production, which are made from recycled plastic from the collected nets.

Our collaboration with Rotogal started several years ago and we are excited to continue the journey together into the future in the Nordic market. We look forward to many more exciting products and collaborations with Rotogal!

Circular economy in practice: Used pallet boxes sold in less than an hour at Dansk Transport Emballage A/S

DTE successfully gives new life to used plastic pallet containers in record time. After thorough preparation and splitting, all the pallets were sold in less than an hour. This quick sell-out success marks a significant change in practice and emphasizes the company's commitment to circular economy and sustainability initiatives.

At a time when the circular economy is in the spotlight and even on the Finance Act, DTE has taken steps to integrate this sustainable approach into their business model. With recent regulatory changes in the field, the company strives to adapt and take advantage of the opportunities, which has already borne fruit. DTE received a batch of used plastic pallet tubs from Adival A/S, who themselves are experts in recycling residual and waste products. The tubs were transformed from surplus stock to valuable recycled goods in record time.

Immediately after receiving the pallet tubs, DTE started the process of preparing them for an extended life. Each tub was carefully sorted and prepared for resale. Naturally, there were some tubs in the batch that were too damaged to be sold on. These are redistributed and sent to recycling specialists via granulation, where they can be reused to create new plastic products. 

After the careful preparation, a campaign was launched about the available pallet collars. Surprisingly, DTE had to report a sell-out less than an hour later, as all pallets quickly found new owners. This is of interest because of the contrast the case presents with previous practices. Less than 10 years ago, all of these pallets would likely have been discarded without a thought for their potential for a second life. Today, they are given a second chance to contribute to the circular economy and support the green transition - a positive development that reflects a growing awareness of sustainability and
recycling in business.

Last week Ole and Michael visited our Dutch supplier Q-Pall. An interesting company visit with good communication and understanding of each other.

Q-Pall is an innovative company that is committed to recycling and only uses recycled plastic in their production of plastic pallets. In addition to the factory in the Netherlands, factories are located in 4 other European countries - primarily to reduce CO2 emissions in connection with transportation.

The best thing about the visit was to highlight the common understanding of the Code of Conduct, to experience the fantastic environment in the company and the agreement to jointly develop together and become an even better and more skilled supplier in the Scandinavian market.

We shipped 10,064 plastic crates and 140 plastic pallets to Chile. Before loading, both boxes and pallets had to be repacked so they could go into the container.
The customer is a Chilean cheese producer who will use the plastic boxes for storage and production of cheese.

Last Monday, we held the first of four meetings with a network that has been created through MG Udvikling ApS, which in collaboration with Haderslev Erhvervsråd has founded Fra Verdensmål til Hverdagsmål. It was an honor to host the network participants, who all come from companies located in Haderslev Municipality and who have participated in the previous process.
We talked about everyone's continued development and successes with the SDGs; with good sparring and inspiration from each other.
In addition, Christina, who is Head of Climate and Environment in Haderslev Municipality, gave a presentation on the municipality's future climate plans.
It is important that we as a company and municipality can work together - we believe this is the way forward for a more sustainable future.

Proper environmental management is important regardless of industry. Not only are there a wide range of legal requirements in this area. But optimal waste sorting is also essential to ensure that all your company's waste is disposed of with the least possible impact on the surroundings and the environment.

Most people are already familiar with waste sorting from production waste and waste containers at home. With the new rules from January 1, 2023, companies are required to sort household-like waste into 10 different waste types.

Danish Transport Packaging has one of the market's largest selections of waste containers for businesses. Their goal is to be the company's supplier of plastic packaging from recognized manufacturers. With a strong knowledge of the products, they are always ready to help you choose exactly the solutions that perfectly suit your business needs and optimize waste management.

Large and small waste containers

Dansk Transport Emballages waste containers are made of HDPE and are therefore ideal for proper waste management. The material is robust and durable and has the added benefit of preventing mold and dirt from sticking. This type of waste container is UV-safe, frost- and heat-proof and easy to clean.

The waste containers are available in many colors and sizes; from 60 liters and up to 1100 liters if needed. If you want a specific color or accessories, they can be made as a special production.

Many industries also need smaller waste containersthat are easy to handle, for example in trailers, toilets, offices, commercial kitchens and canteens, etc. Here, Dansk Transport Emballage offers a food-approved plastic container in 40 liters, 60 liters or 90 liters for waste management, which can be used for both recyclable waste and bio and food waste.

The containers are made of PP plastic and can withstand temperatures between -20°C to +30°C and briefly 65°C. They are easy to clean, for example in a dishwasher. The plastic containers are available with different functions and trolleys with swivel wheels in different materials.

Signage on waste containers

According to the new regulations, all businesses are required to have a station for sorting and disposing of household waste into the 10 waste types with proper signage.

Dansk Transport Emballage has created a thorough description ofhow to do it.

You can also find free pictograms for downloadwhich can be attached to the bins with magnetic frames and provide good and visible labeling of the waste bins.

Creating more sustainability in everyday life is something more and more companies are starting to think about. In many industries, proper waste sorting has become very important as there are a wide range of environmental regulations to comply with.

WHAT PRODUCTS CAN WE OFFER?

Optimal waste sorting is important for proper waste disposal. Regardless of your industry, our waste containers are ideal for proper waste management as they are made from HDPE plastic. HDPE is a robust and durable plastic material that has the added benefit of preventing mold and dirt from sticking. In addition, there is a patented reinforcement bar, so the strength is significantly improved, making the waste bin much more robust. This type of waste container is UV-safe, as well as frost and heat-proof and super easy to clean. The waste containers are available in different colors and sizes; from 60 L up to 1100 L and with lid-in-lid if needed. If you want a specific color or accessories, custom production is an option.

In some industries it is important to use smaller waste containers that are easy to handle. For example, in trailers, toilets, offices, commercial kitchens, canteens, etc. We can offer you a food-grade plastic container in either 60L or 90L for waste management, which can be used for recyclable waste, but also bio and food waste. The material is PP plastic and can withstand temperatures between -20°C to +30°C and briefly 65°C - it can withstand being cleaned in a dishwasher, for example. Lids with different functions and trolleys with swivel wheels in different materials are available for the plastic containers.
