At Dansk Transport Emballage, we have been determined to play our part and intensify our activities in the circular economy for the past 30 years. This keeps resources in circulation, minimises the impact on the environment and strengthens our position as a trustworthy and value-driven partner.
That is why we have prepared an ESG report—an ESG initiative that goes beyond what is normally expected of a company of our size. The report not only informs but also inspires—our customers, partners, and other stakeholders—to engage in dialogue, share knowledge, and take collective action.

When we receive reusable plastic pallets, plastic crates, and plastic containers, either through returns or purchases, our process begins with carefully assessing each individual unit.
The devices that meet our quality standards are reused and put back into circulation to serve new purposes for our customers. This reuse process not only saves resources, but also reduces the need to produce new devices and minimizes our overall environmental impact.
For those devices that can't be recycled as they are, their lifecycle doesn't stop here. Even the most damaged devices get a chance to be reused. We do this by sending them to granulation. All units we work with are generally made of virgin PP/HDPE plastic or recycled plastic.
During granulation, the various products are sorted into PP, HDPE, and recycled plastic. They have different properties, which allows us to better control where they are best used in a new product. All plastic that we send for granulation is made from 100% recyclable material and can be used in new products in a CO₂-neutral manner.
By recycling plastic, we help reduce waste and contribute to the circular economy. We want to minimize our own waste footprint as well as that of our customers.

At DTE, we offer customized recycling solutions where we take back plastic pallets, plastic crates and plastic tubs. These units are sorted, washed and returned to the customer to extend their lifetime. Units that do not meet our quality standard are granulated and recycled.

We have implemented energy-saving measures to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions and improve the building's operation. All rooms are equipped with sensors and timers that ensure demand-driven and efficient lighting.
The lighting has been upgraded to energy-efficient LED fixtures, and the lighting in the warehouses has been reduced. Sunshades and CTS systems control heating and ventilation for optimal energy efficiency. These measures ensure a stable indoor climate with low energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
Waste sorting is an integral part of our daily operations and environmental responsibility. We have set up several waste containers and a central sorting station at our warehouse. This ensures the correct handling and responsible sorting of all types of waste. We extend the life of electronics by recycling phones, computers, and other equipment. When importing, we optimize logistics by consolidating orders and ensuring full loads. This reduces the number of transports and contributes to lower CO2 emissions.
We are working towards more sustainable operations through a virtually paperless office. Paper consumption in the accounting department has been significantly reduced.
Electronics, chemicals, and other environmentally harmful waste are always disposed of properly. Waste bags for paper and plastic are reused as long as it is hygienically safe to do so. Cardboard boxes are reused for shipping, and cardboard from pallets is used as interlayers. Soft plastic is reused as filling in cartons to minimize waste. In addition, we continuously evaluate suppliers based on their sustainability efforts.
Although we are located in an industrial area, we actively create our own green space. We have planted trees and wild flowers on our property, which bring life and color to the area. Green areas increase biodiversity and contribute to a more inspiring and healthy working environment for employees.
